Pangani

Pangani

Pangani is a fishing village on the Indian Ocean. There is little of interest to travellers, but fishing trips to the reefs, as well as snorkeling trips to the islands of Mawe Mdogo and Mwamba Mawe can be arranged. The small marine park on the island of Maziwi is also in the vicinity. The wildlife along the Pangani River can be seen if you take a boat trip up the river.

Pangani has several hotels and restaurants. The town is at the mouth of the Pangani River, some 160 km north of Dar es Salaam. The historic site of Muhembo is not far from Pangani.
