Pasochoa Forest Reserve
The Pasochoa Forest Reserve is located on the slopes of the extinct volcano of Pasochoa. Lava and ash from the volcano has increased the fertility of the surrounding area. As a result a wide variety of natural habitats, as well as a large amount of plant species have developed. In 1996, the Pasochoa Forest Reserve was established there.
The park is easily accessible and only 30 km (19 miles) southeast of Quito.
