Pondoland Marine Protected Area

The Pondoland Marine Protected Area is a marine conservation area of off South Africa's Wild Coast. It was established in 2004 to protect marine animals and especially line fish in the area. It was named for the local Pondo people.

Conditions for scuba diving are often poor, as the rivers deposit a lot of silt and there are strong currents.

The Pondoland Marine Protected Area straddles the Mkhambathi Nature Reserve.
