Poznań is a beautiful city on the Warta river in western Poland. There are numerous monuments and old buildings and its Old Town, many of which are included in the UNESCO world heritage list.

There are numerous theatres in Poznań, including Teatr Wielki, Teatr Polski, Teatr Nowy Teatr Animacji, Teatr Muzyczny and the Polish Dance Theatre. Poznań also boasts several interesting museums. Some of the city's most important sites include the Town Hall and the Gothic Cathedral. The southside of Old Market Square has numerous beautiful buildings. The Zamek Culture Centre is housed in the former Prussian Royal Residence Palace. Poznań boasts many nice parks, a large botanical garden and a palm house, as well as Poznań Zoological Garden, which is the oldest zoo in Poland. It was founded in 1874.

Not far from the ciry is Porta Posnania, which has a modern steel-glass footbridge.

Poznań is 280 km east of Warsaw. There are many hotels and restaurants in the city.
