Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary is home to a variety of rare and endangered bird species. The sanctuary includes the Kadamakkal Reserve Forest and it is adjacent to the Bisle Reserve Forest in the north and the Kukke Subramanya Forest Range to the west.
The waterfalls of Mallalli Falls and Kote Abbe (Mukkodlu Falls) are located in the sanctuary. The mountains of Kote Betta and Makkalagudi Betta can be climbed, but Mandalpatti Peak, also known as Mugilu Pete, features a viewpoint at its summit. Mandalpatti is 1,250 m high and it is located 18 km north from Madikeri.
Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Karnataka, not far from the city of Somwarpet.
