Rinca
The small island of Rinca lies between Flores and Sumbawa in eastern Nusa Tenggara. It is known for its Komodo dragons, a fierce specious of lizards that can reach a weight of 130 kg (287 lb). It requires some luck to see the animals, but if you are patient enough, you will probably see them. There are also several monkey colonies on Rinca, as well as bush turkeys, deer, eagles and wild water buffalo.
Accommodation is available on Rinca, but to reach the island you will have to charter a boat from Sumbawa or Flores.
