Roraima
Roraima is a 280 km² (109 sq miles) large plateau that straddles the border area of Venezuela, Guyana and Brazil. The region is excellent for trekking and five day long round trips, including local guides, are available. Mount Roraima in southern Venezuela is the area's highest peak. Treks up the mountain can be arranged and the views from the summit are absolutely stunning.
If you're planning to visit Roraima, bring warm clothes, as well as waterproof gear, as it rains almost continuously.
Roraima is also the name of one of Brazil's 26 states.
