Rurrenabaque
Rurrenabaque is a lively little town on the eastern banks of the Río Beni, on the edge of the Bolivian lowland. The Tacana, who originally inhabited the area, were one of the few lowland tribes that resisted Christianity and Western-style civilization. As a result, Rurrenabaque is one of the loveliest and most unspoilt of the Bolivian lowland villages. Jungle trips into the surrounding rain forest are available in town.
There are several hotels and restaurants in Rurrenabaque. The town is 235 km north of La Paz and 560 km northwest of Sucre.
