Rust

Rust is a prosperous wine-producing town in the east of Austria, not far from the Hungarian border. The town sits on Lake Neusiedl and boasts some beautiful burghers' houses. From the end of March, many storks start arriving, to stay until the end of August, when autumn comes. Many buildings in Rust have a metal platform on the roof to entice storks to build a nest there.

There are several hotels and restaurants in Rust. The town is 50 km southeast of Wien (Vienna).
