Saint Michael's Cave

Saint Michael's Cave

Saint Michael's Cave is a network of limestone caves in Gibraltar's Upper Rock Nature Reserve that was once inhabited by Neolithic people. Nowadays it is used for concerts, plays and fashion shows.

To get to the Grotto you should walk south down Saint Michael's Road from the top of the Rock. You can also walk up from the Apes' Den. Each way it is about 20 minutes walking.

From the town of Gibraltar, the cave can be reached by car, taxi, or cable car.
