Sechin

The well-preserved archaeological site of Sechin was originally founded around 1500 BC, making it on of the oldest in Peru. There are several temples, of which the main one is surrounded by walls. These walls are covered in ghoulish carvings of warriors disemboweling their captives. The main temple has a pyramidal shape and is 35 m tall.

Accommodation is available in the town of Casma, 5 km to the east. Sechin is 315 km northwest of Lima.
