Shush (شوش)
The city of Shush sits next to the ancient city of Šuša.
There are several interesting sites in Shush, including the tomb of Daniel, the tomb of the third-century poet Debel Khozaei and the ancient Elamite Chogha Zanbil ziggurat from the 14th or 13th century BC.
Shush Castle is also known as Acropol Castle. It is located on a hill in Shush and was constructed in 1897.
Chogha Zanbil, not far from the archaeological site of Susa, was the first Iranian monument to be inscribed into the UNESCO list of world heritage sites, in 1979. Archaeological items from Shush can be seen in the National Museum in Tehran.
Because of the war with israel it is not recommended to travel to Shush (شوش), or any other destination in Iran at this moment.
