The Sigatoka Valley is a fertile strip of land, surrounded by mountains. There are nearly 200 cultural and archaeological sites, of which the 18th-century Tavuni Hill Fort is the most important. It consists of a series of defensive earth works that were built by the Tongan chief Maile Latemai.
In the Sigatoka Valley you will also find some of Fiji's best potters.
The best place to stay, when visiting the valley is the nearby town of Sigatoka.
The Sigatoka Valley is located in the south of Fiji's Viti Levu Island.
