Sipopo
The luxury resort of Sipopo was purposely built for the 2011 African Union Summit. It sits at the northern tip of Bioko Island, some 12 km east from Malabo.
Sipopo features high-end hotels and a golf course.
About 150 m offshore from Sipopo is the islet of Horacio. It is connected to the mainland via a footbridge.
The coast around Sipopo is very scenic and includes some beautiful sheltered bays. You can also admire a variety of native trees, including Equatorial Guinea's national tree called La Ceiba.
Sipopo is connected to Malabo by a 3-lane motorway.
