Teror

The small village of Teror is located at a tableland, some 575 meters above sea level. It is surrounded by breath-taking mountains. It has bocome an important place of pilgrimage, after shepherds witnessed an apparition of Maria in 1481. The town features several beautiful colonial white houses with wooden balconies, especially along the Calle Real de la Plaza street, including Casa de Doña Teresa de Bolivar. In Teror you can also see a basilica.

Accommodation and restaurants are available in Teror. There is a market every Sunday.

The town is in the northern part of Gran Canaria, some 1640 km southwest of Madrid.
