The Cradle of Humankind

The Cradle of Humankind is a paleoanthropological site, where the world's largest concentration of human ancestral remains were discovered. The site covers some 47,000 ha (120,000 acres) of lmestone caves and caverns.
The area was inscribed into the UNESCO list of world heritage sites in 1999.
The Cradle of Humankind is located 50 km (31 mi) northwest from Johannesburg.
