Thun
Thun lies on the northern end of Lake Thun in central Switzerland's Berner Oberland. The town's major sight is Schloss Thun, a 12th-century castle on a hill that provides excellent views over Thun and the surrounding area. The castle boasts an interesting historical museum, as well as a Romanesque tower. The Rathaus is town hall and was built in the 16th century. There are several nice museums in Thun.
Not far from Thun are two other castles. Boat trips on Lake Thun to visit both castles are available in town. The surrounding area offers stunning views of the Bernese Alps. There are several hotels and restaurants in Thun. Boats to explore Lake Thun are available in town. Thun is 30 km southeast of Bern.
