Tirta Gangga

Tirta Gangga

The main attraction in the town of Tirta Gangga is the former royal palace known as water palace. The decaying relic is a reminder of the power of the Balinese rajahs and includes bathing pools and the Patirthan temple. The palace was built in 1946, but most of it was destroyed in the 1963 eruption of the nearby volcano of Mount Agung. Tirta Ggangga's water palace is surrounded by countless terraced rice paddies.

Acommodation is available in town, but most people only come here, when visiting the nearby town of Tenganan.
