Visby
Visby is an old Hanseatic city on the Swedish island of Gotland. There are more than 40 towers, as well as the remains of churches and palaces. Visby is surrounded by medieval walls and most of the streets in the center have cobbled stones. Visby declined in the late Middle Ages and there was no money to upgrade the city's buildings. As a result most have been preserved in their original state.
It is the best preserved medieval city in Scandinavia and it was inscribed into the UNESCO list of world heritage sites in 1995.
