Xi Xia Mausoleums (Western Xia Mausoleums)
The Western Xia mausoleums, or Western Xia Imperial Tombs, cover some 50 km² (19 sq mi) at the foot of the Helan Mountains in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in the northwest of China.
The site includes 9 imperial mausoleums and 250 tombs of members of the royal family, as well as officials from China's Western Xia dynasty, which existed from 1038 to 1227.
Excavations on the site have been going on for many years and so far, only some 17,000 m² (180,000 sq ft) have been dug up. The site sits at the eastern foot of the Helan Mountains.
