Yacata Island
Yacata, or Yathata, is an island of Fiji's Lau Archipelago.
The island measures some 6 km² and the only town is Yacata Village. Yacata shares a reef with the nearby island of Kaibu.
Yacata is located in the northwest of the archipelago, 20 km north from Vatu Vara, 40 km west from Kanacea and 45 southwest of Naitaba. The island of Taveuni is 60 km to the northwest.
Yacata is excellent for windsurfing, sailing, trekking and caving.
In 2010, cyclone Tomas hit Yacata particularly hard.
