aṣ-Ṣaḥrā' as-sawdā' (Black Desert, الصحراء السوداء)

aṣ-Ṣaḥrā' as-sawdā' (Black Desert, الصحراء السوداء) is a region of black volcano-shaped mounds that are mostly capped by basalt sills. The mounds are up to 100 m (328 ft) high.

The Black Desert is between the White Desert National Park in the south and the Bahariya Oasis in the north.
