Aur Atoll

The two main islands of the Aur Atoll are Tobal and Aur, each of which is home to about half the atoll's population. The other islands in the Aur Atoll are mostly uninhabited, but they are used for copra cultivation. The Aur Atoll is a good place to see the traditional way of life in the Marshall's. The locals on Tobal and Aur are specialized in manufacturing model canoes and large wall hangings that are sold to tourists.

Aur's lagoon is excellent for snorkeling and scuba diving. It boasts colorful coral that is home to countless tropical fish. You might also see turtles and small sharks. Accommodation is available on Aur. The atoll is 130 km north of Majuro.
