Bourke

Bourke

Bourke is the last major settlement before the flat featureless expanse of the outback of New South Wales. The town has numerous interesting sights, including a replica of the 19th-century paddle steamer the Jandra and several Australian pubs that Australian writer Henry Lawson used to visit.

Accommodation is available in town. Bourke is 660 km northwest of both Sydney and Canberra, so it is best to fly there.
