Byron Bay has year-round warm weather, beautiful beaches and a laid-back atmosphere, making it one of the most popular spots on the entire Australian east coast. The swell south of Cape Byron is excellent for surfing. The Big Avocado is a tribute to the region's crop. During Easter, Byron Bay hosts the East Coast Blues and Roots Festival. It draws thousands of visitors from all over Australia end if you are in town during that period, make sure that you book accommodation in advance. On the Cape Byron headland is a nice lighthouse.

There are many hotels and restaurants in Byron Bay. Byron Bay is situated on a beautiful bay in the northeast of New South Wales, some 630 km northeast of Sydney and 860 km northeast of Canberra. The town is not far from the border with Queensland. The best way to get there is to fly to Coolangatta and take a bus heading south from there. Byron Bay is Australia's most easterly point.
