Dilizhan



Dilizhan is the main source of Armenia's mineral water. It is a hill station in a scenic mountainous area with woods and springs. Armenians say heaven must be like Dilizhan. Not far from town is the spectacular Agartsin Gorge.

Dilizhan's main street is called ulitsa Myasnikyana. There you will find the interesting Regional Museum, as well as numerous shops where nice furniture and carpets are sold. The 10th-century Agartsin Monastery was one of the region's most important Armenian cultural centers in medieval times. The building is erected in typical Armenian architectural style.

The ruins of the two 13th-century monasteries of Matosavank and Djukhtakvank stand on each side of a ravine not far from town.

In the town of Arzni is a Spa Center. There are several hotels and restaurants in Dilizhan. The town is 18 km northeast of Yerevan.
