Grímsey Island
The tiny island of Grímsey is the only part of Island that lies within the Arctic Circle. There are numerous steep cliffs, often more than 100 m (328 feet) high, where thousands of birds have their nests during the summer. Grímsey is 45 km (27 miles) north of the mainland of Iceland and 325 km northeast of Reykjavík.
