Groot Constantia Vineyard

The Groot Constantia Vineyard is the largest vineyard in the Cape. It was built in 1692 and nowadays it is owned by the government that tries to develop it into a tourist center. The homestead is about 13 km south of central Cape Town. It is much easier and convenient to visit than the wine lands around Stellenbosch, which make it worth a visit.

Tours around the beautifully restored homestead include wine tasting and are surprisingly cheap. Accommodation is in Cape Town.
