Hay-on-Wye
Hay-on-Wye is a nice little town with sloping lanes and several Norman and Jacobean ruins. It is an interesting market town, where mostly second-hand books are sold. Hay-on-Wye came in the news in 1977, when the town declared independence from the U.K. There are over 30 bookshops in Hay-on-Wye, as well as several hotels and restaurants. Hay-on-Wye is 220 km northwest of London, on the Welsh border.
