Little Cayman is a quiet backwater with less than 100 residents, although the number of divers that visit the island on any given day probably surpasses that. Some of the best diving spots are on the island's northwestern coast and include Bloody Bay Wall and Jackson Point.
Little Cayman is also excellent for birding and one of the Americas' largest breeding populations of red-footed boobies, as well as a large colony of swooping frigate birds can be found in the island's Booby Pond Nature Reserve. Booby Pond is overlooked by a National Trust information center, where you can find out all about the birds and their habits. There is also a viewing platform with binoculars. Opposite the pond is a small museum that has displays of local artifacts and beach treasures.
On the western tip of Little Cayman is a lighthouse that provides nice views of Cayman Brac, 10 km (7 miles) away, on the other side of the channel.
Accommodation is available on Little Cayman. The island is 140 km northeast of George Town.
