Mildura

Mildura is an oasis in the desert of northwestern Victoria. Mildura is a major agricultural center that is watered by the Murray River. There are many lush orange groves, orchards and vineyards. Because of the blue skies and sunshine all year round, Mildura is slowly gearing toward tourism. Visitors can also enjoy visits to the wineries, river cruises, camel rides, ballooning and golf.

Accommodation is available in the form of houseboats, although there are also some hotels in town. Mildura is 470 km northwest of Melbourne and 650 km northwest of Canberra.
