Northumberland Strait



Northumberland Strait is an arm of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. It is some 320 km (200 miles) long and between 14.5 and 48 km (9 to 30 miles) wide. The strait separates Prince Edward Island from New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. In 1997, the Confederation Bridge was opened. It spans the narrowest point of the strait.
