Palm Beach

Palm Beach

Palm Beach was settled during the 1870's, but it only grew rapidly after the arrival of developer Henry M. Flagler in 1893. Palm Beach is a well-known resort of the wealthy. There are many fine estates, luxurious hotels and yachting facilities. During the winter its population expands greatly, as many people arrive to escape the cold season at home. Of interest are the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum, the Cluett Memorial Gardens and the Four Arts Gardens.

There are many hotels, bars and restaurants in Palm Beach. The city is in the southeast of Florida, on a barrier beach between the Atlantic Ocean and the lagoon of Lake Worth, 590 km southeast of Tallahassee and 1440 km south of Washington D.C.
