Parker

Parker

The South Fork Ranch in Parker was built by JR Duncan in 1970. It was the place where large parts of the long-running TV series Dallas were filmed in the 1980's. At first, the Duncans were reluctant to allow filming at their property. They finally agreed, but only allowed exterior shots and only in summer. Lorimar Productions built a gigantic set in California depicting the mansion's interior. The TV series became more and more popular and obsessed fans prowled the South Fork grounds night and day. The Duncans decided to sell their property and Lorimar began filming interior shots there, too.

Nowadays, South Fork is mostly used for receptions and parties. The town of Parker is in the northeast of Texas, 32 km (20 miles) northeast of Dallas via Highway 75.
