Tiébélé

If you happen to be in the area around the Resérve de Nazinga, it is a good idea to visit Tiébélé, 40 km (25 miles) east of Pô. The only way to get there is by 4WD via a dirt track, but it is worth the hassle. Tiébélé lies in the middle of Gourounsi country. The Gourounsi traditional houses are buildings that looks a bit like a fortress. The houses have no windows and they are hand-painted in red, black and white geometric patterns with guinea fowl feathers, by Gourounsi women.

You absolutely need your own 4WD transport to get to the town. Tiébélé lies about 150 km (90 miles) south of Ouagadougou.
