Venda

Venda is one of the former homelands that were created by the Apartheid regime in the 1970's. The area consists of barren lowland and some rain forest. There is a sacred lake in Venda and to the south you can see ruined furnaces that were used for centuries to smelt iron.

There are several interesting towns in the area, including Mphephu Resort, Sagole and the capital of Thohoyandu. The tows of Messina and Louis Trichard are also in the vicinity, as well as the Nwanedi National Park and the Kruger National Park.
