Ṣāfītā is a city that is built on three hills in the northwest of Syria. The main sight in Ṣāfītā is the fortress of Chastel Blanc that was built in 1202 by the Crusaders. It consists of a 28m high square tower that dominates the city.

The fortress contains a chapel that is dedicated to St. Michael. Inside the fortress is a stone staircase. The 2nd floor used to be a dormitory and its basement contains a water cistern.

Ṣāfītā sits about 26 km (16 mi) southeast of Ṭarṭūs and 55 km (34 mi) northwest of Homs, not far from Krak des Chevaliers, some 150 km north from Dimašq (Damascus).
