Abaco Islands

The Abaco Islands form the second largest landmass in The Bahamas. The archipelago comprises the main island of Abaco and the Abaco Cays. The Sea of Abaco is protected by the cays and is very popular with yachters. For that reason it is often referred to as the 'The Sailing Capital of the World'.
Points of interest
- Elbow Cay is 10 km (6 mi) east of Marsh Harbour. The only hamlet on the cay is Hope Town, but otherwise it is covered by pines and shrubs and home to lizards and feral cats.
- Walker's Cay is one of the best sport-fishing sites in The Bahamas. It has a reef, which is perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving.
