Arak lies between In Salah and Tamanrasset. It is a small Touareg settlement where buses often stop for a small break. It is very hot in the summer and unfriendly in winter. There is nothing to do in Arak, but the restaurant has a camping ground where houses made of grass and reeds (the so-called zeribas) can be rented. Nearby is the scenic Arak Gorges.
