The town of Banaue sits in an area of spectacular rice terraces that were carved out of the hillside by Ifugao tribespeople during the last millennium BC. The Ifugao Rice TerracesIfugao Rice Terraces look like giant stepping stones to the sky and some of them reach altitude of 1,500 m (4,920 ft).

Accommodation is available in Banaue. The town lies in north Luzon, 300 km north of Manila and is a UNESCO world heritage site.
