Billund

Billund was founded in the 17th century. In the 1930s, the Lego Group's head office was established there and especially during the 1960s the town's economy boomed. Legoland is also located there and because of its popularity, the airport of Billund is the second most-busy one in Denmark.
Points of interest
- Billund Church was inaugurated in 1973. It is located in the center of town.
- Hotel Refborg was originally called Billund Inn. It was built in 1834 and it is located in the center of town center. It is one of Billund's oldest buildings.
- Grene Church
was consecrated in 1892. It is located on Kirkevej. The church was renovated in 1991. - Lalandia is the largest water park in Scandinavia. It opened in 2009 and also includes a bowling alley, an ice skating rink and a mini golf.
- Lego Campus was completed in 2022. It is the headquarters of the Lego Group and it measures 54,000 m². The building is located on Højmarksvej.
- Lego House
is filled with 25 million Lego bricks. Inside, visitors can physically and digitally build with Lego bricks, program robots and animate models. The building consists of 21 staggered blocks that resemble Lego bricks. It was completed in 2017. - The Lego Ideas House comprises 3 buildings:
- The former family home of Ole Kirk Christiansen, who was the founder of the Lego Group. The house was completed in 1924.
- The System House is the location of the 1st Lego headquarters. The building dates from the 1950s.
- The old woodworking factory was constructed in 1942.
- Legoland Denmark, or Legoland Billund Resort, is in Billund. It opened in 1968.
- Skulpturpark (Sculpture Park) consists of a 1.3 km long trail with various sculptures along it.
- The Teddy Bear Art Museum is located in the center of Billund.
- In 1880, the first windmill was built in Billund. It burned down in 1895, but it was rebuilt only 2 years later. The windmill is located on the road between Vejle and Varde.
- WOW Park is a children's adventure park. It includes a tree-top adventure experience set within a forest. WOW Park is located 10 minutes from Billund.
There are numerous hotels and restaurants in town and most people who visit Legoland stay in Billund. Billund is 210 km west of København (Copenhagen).
