Bovec is an adventure sports center, where all sorts of activities like fishing, hiking, kayaking, rafting, mountain biking and skiing are available.
Some points of interest include Boka Falls, 2,864 m high Mount Triglav, the Soča River, Lake Krn, the Kanin (Sella Nevea) ski resort, the Vršič Pass (1,611 m) and the mountain road to the Mangart Saddle, Prestreljeniško Okno (Prestreljenik Window), the Kanin circular cableway.
Hiking trails include the Peace Trail from Bovec to Kluže Fortress, the Soča Trail and the Alpe-Adria Trail. There is also a zip line not far from town.
There are several hotels and restaurants in Bovec. The town is located in the northwest of Slovenia, in the Soca Valley, 136 km (85 mi) northwest of Ljubljana and not far from the Italian border. The adjacent Trenta Valley in the northwest leads into Triglav National Park.
