Most people come to the town to see the worn out Subeng River Dinosaur Footprints, about half way between Butha-Buthe and Leribe. The footprints are only visible when the water level in the river is low, so the best time to visit is during the dry period. The prints were made by at least three species of dinosaur.

There is a lodge near town and food is available from Butha Buthe. You can get there by minibus or taxi. Butha Buthe is 95 km northeast of Maseru and the dinosaur footprints are 10 km west of town.
