Cáceres is the capital of Upper Extremadura. It has a beautiful old quarter that is enclosed by Moorish town walls with big watch-towers. There are several exceptional Renaissance palaces in Cáceres.

There are various hotels and restaurants in town. Cáceres is 245 km southwest of Madrid.
