Dozza

Dozza, or Dozza Imolese, is a small medieval town, about 20 km east of Bologna. The entire town is like an open-air museum and you might wonder if you are in the Middle Ages.

It is thought that Dozza Castle was constructed in the 13th century, on the foundations of an even older building. The castle was remodeled at the end of the 15th century. The cellars host Enoteca Regionale Emilia Romagna, the enoteca and wine bar dedicated to oenological products of Emilia-Romagna.

The Museo della Rocca di Dozza is housed in the Dozza Castle. An other intersting museum is the Museo Parrocchiale di Arte Sacra.

Accommodation is available in Dozza. There are several bars and restaurants too. The town is 290 km north of Roma (Rome).
