The Batak village of Jangga has remained relatively unchanged over the years. It boasts traditional ornamentation and is a popular destination for both domestic and foreign tourists. Most people in Jangga live from agriculture, but the manufacturing of 'ulos' cloth is also an important economic source. The Batak Kings Tainbun and Manurung, who ruled the region centuries ago, left Jangga with a legacy of monuments and traditional buildings.
