Kākh-e Ardashir-e Pāpakān (Palace of Ardashir Pāpakān, کاخ اردشير پاپکان)

The Palace of Ardashir Pāpakān, Kākh-e Ardashir-e Pāpakān, or Atash-kadeh (آتشکده) dates from 224 AD.
The ancient city where the palace is located was renamed Peroz, when the Sassanian Empire was established. After the Arabian conquest it was renamed Firuz. This name still survives as the nearby contemporary city of Firuzabad.
The Palace is located on a mountain slope near the Firouzabad-Kavar road, 2 km (1.2 mi) north of the ancient city of Gor. The castle of Qal'eh Dokhtar is located on the same mountain. It is 860 km south of Tehran.
Because of the war with Israel and the United States it is not recommended to travel to Kākh-e Ardashir-e Pāpakān (Palace of Ardashir Pāpakān, کاخ اردشير پاپکان), or any other destination in Iran at this moment.
