La Foa is a small town on the southwestern coast of Terre Grande. The area around the town consists of lush cane fields, as well as blackwood and araucaria pines. La Foa was originally founded as a penal settlement.

Points of interest

There are several hotels and restaurants in La Foa. The town is 95 km northwest of Nouméa and buses ply the route on weekdays.
