Lake Tahoe-Nevada State Park

Lake Tahoe-Nevada State Park is a state park centered on the northeastern shores of Lake Tahoe. The park measures 5,787 ha (14,301 acres).

Points of interest

Sand Harbor comprises a large sandy beach with picnicking facilities, a nature trail, a boat launch, and a visitors' center. The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival often organizes stage productions there.
The area around Spooner Lake is excellent for hiking, picnicking, fishing and wildlife viewing. A hiking trail to Snow Valley Peak starts at Spooner Lake. The Marlette/Hobart Backcountry trails also have their starting point there.
The Marlette/Hobart Backcountry is an area that covers 4,930 ha (12,183 acres) of the Carson Range. It includes countless hiking trails. There are several campsites in the area.
Sections of the Lake Tahoe-Nevada State Park along Highway 28 include the secluded sandy Hidden Beach, as well as Memorial Point, which is cinneted to Sand Harbor via a hiking trail.

The park is located 10 km northwest from Carson City.
