The pleasant Georgian township of Laugharne is on the estuary of the River Tâf and it is the main stop on the Dylan Thomas trail. The poet used to live in Laugharne and his boathouse has been turned into a museum. The pub he frequently visited and the churchyard where he is buried are nearby.

The ruins of the 12th-century Laugharne Castle are nearby. Another place of interest is Laugharne Town Hall. There are numerous Georgian townhouses in Laugharne, including the Great House, Castle House and Island House, parts of which date from Tudor period. Some vernacular (building outside academic tradition and without professional guidance) cottages can also be seen there. The estuary of the River Tâf is a good place for birdwatching.
